Psychoeducational Testing
Psychoeducational testing is a comprehensive evaluation of a student's cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional strengths and weaknesses, using a battery of standardized tests to identify learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional disorders or other challenges.
It provides a roadmap for interventions, accommodations (like extended time), special education eligibility, and supports in school and life, by assessing intelligence, processing skills, and academic achievement (reading, writing, math).
Why get tested at The Lighthouse Collective?
We take the “whole person” approach, meaning we understand there may be multiple reasons a child has difficulty reading or seems to have trouble staying focused, for example. Therefore, our evaluations are not “one size fits all.” We tailor each assessment to the specific situation.
We assess for strengths AND weaknesses at different levels of processing, making sure to evaluate how the young person’s emotional life and personality characteristics influence their academic and social functioning.
We understand that testing can be a daunting process. It’s a lot of data! We try to explain results in everyday language with real-world examples. And we value a laid-back environment where everyone feels comfortable and accepted.
